They were attacked out of nowhere and were unprepared for a massacre. Meaning they were caught off guard. Itachi was also the only one who had a Mangakeyo.Also Fugaku could defeat Itachi (at this point) but chose not to do so cos Itachi was his son.

also, i don't usually cry in anime, no matter how imotionally invested i am, im just a person who is barely able to cry.
but since the war arc started i found myself crying so much??? like when Asuma appeared, even before the fight started, just the moment he met Shikamaru, Ino and Choji i immidietly burst out crying.
just... i had no idea i would become a Naruto fan. for years i objected this Anime just for being long and dragging it's fights' but as i started watching i got so dragged in, i can honestly say that Naruto is on my top 3 animes ever. just... incredible.

i just love how dinamic all the fights in this war are (most of them). how the enemies themselves tell them how to beat them and congratulating them when they make a good move. this is fucking awsome. sad, but awsome. i love seeing it, and the emotional finale that we get at the end of each fight is incredible.
also Itachi!!!! amazing!!!!!!!! how awsome would it be that now that his secret is out and not only he's a good guy, but he also took control of himself and not forced to fight?! how fucking awsome is that?!?!?!?

Well, to be fully real, the order itself was messed up. No one can be guilty of a crime until they commit it. All Uchiha did was PLAN to attack Konoha. Even to arrest someone on that grounds is not acceptable. To order a mass murder is monstrous!
